In celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of the Shillong Records Collection Centre (SRCC), The Northeast India Audio-Visual Archive organized an exhibition, on the 7th of October 2024 to honour the legacy and contributions of this remarkable institution. The SRCC, a pioneering private library founded by the late Bah L. Gilbert Shullai, a prominent political and literary figure, has served as a vital repository of knowledge and information since its inception. The institution houses an invaluable collection of unique resources, including historical documents, newspapers, journals, posters, photographs, and other archival materials, preserving the cultural and historical heritage of the region. Remarkably, the SRCC continues to operate and serve the community to this day.

The exhibition showcased the rich legacy of the SRCC by displaying an array of its diverse archival resources. A significant feature of the exhibition was the inclusion of all published works authored by Bah L. Gilbert Shullai, providing attendees with an opportunity to engage with his literary and intellectual contributions. Through these carefully curated displays, the event highlighted the enduring relevance and significance of the SRCC in documenting and preserving the history of Shillong and the broader Northeast India region.
