The indie8 Documentary Film Festival was organised as an attempt to provide a platform for budding artists from Northeast India to showcase their films, to tell the stories of people who cannot, and to make their own opinions as artists heard too. The Northeast India AV Archive scanned and catalogued over 3,700 photographs that the Department of Tourism, Government of Meghalaya owns. The process was bound to make access to the photographs easy and was the first step in our long collaboration with the Department of Tourism which continues to this day.
