SouthEast Asia-Pacific Audiovisual Archive Association (SEAPAVAA) held its 27th Conference from 8 – 13 May 2023 at Mahatai Pattaya Convention Center in Pattaya, Thailand. This year’s conference theme was 'Sustainable AV Archives For The Community.' The conference was hosted by the Thai Film Archive (Public Organization). It was the association’s first in-person event since 2020 because of the Covid-19 pandemic which hit the globe that year.
It was the first SEAPAVAA Conference that The Northeast India AV Archive attended. The team members learned a wealth of information from the different papers that were presented at the symposium. Nathaniel Majaw, Project Director made a presentation about NEIAV Archive at the first day of the symposium.
Apart from the Conference there was a delightful event during the evening of the first day of the symposium called 'Archival Gems', a showcase of short archival clips from different film archives of Southeast Asia and the Pacific region.
