The Peace Talks: A test of Nagaland’s patience | Documentary

The government and Naga groups on October 31, 2019 had said that the Naga Peace Talks had successfully concluded as per the government's deadline. Close to three years later, no official announcement has been made to date. The delay in reaching a solution after over two decades of the Naga Peace Talks has led to an uneasy calm here in Nagaland. As per the civil society groups in Nagaland, there is a simmering tension among the people of the state but they are hopeful that an “honourable” solution will be found at the earliest.

The Shillong Chamber Choir and the Little Home School

Shillong Chamber Choir and the Little Home School' is the story of one man's endurance to empower his community through educational reform and allow for a system where children would be allowed to grow irrespective of their talents and skills. Neil Nongkynrih's vision to create a school for children in Meghalaya started out as an attempt to just gather people around and play a variety of music. But the choir instead, developed a unique repertoire. Mozart and Beethoven are intertwined with regional tunes from the Khasi area. Along with the music school, there is a home school run by Nongkynrih where sixteen children live, study and pray together.

The Story of Sikkim - Documentary film by Dhruv Nambiar

A short documentary about the Indian state of Sikkim.The kingdom of Sikkim was founded in Yuksom in 1642 and Phuntsok Namgyal was crowned as the first Chogyal (Religious ruler). The region has come long way from being a kingdom to becoming India's 22nd state in 1975 to being the world's first fully organic state. The intention of this documentary is to bring out the roots of this beautiful Indian state. Metha, along with other tribal hunters in a Khonoma, Nagaland, has given up hunting to save the forests and the endangered Blyth’s Tragopan. The film is a story of development gone awry and and conservation efforts by people to protect their birds and animals.

The trail of the forgotten king PART 1

The Dimasa are one of the oldest inhabitants of the North Eastern part of India and is one of the many Kachari tribes. The Dimasa Kachari tribe in Cachar District of Assam is a sub-group of the Dimasa community spread across Assam and Nagaland. A popular legend among the Dimasa people says that their ancestors were living at the confluence of the rivers Dalaobra and Sangibra. In that beautiful place, there was a huge banyan tree, the shade of whose foliage covered the land entirely. The tree was the abode of many birds and animals. The ruins of the Dimasa kingdom in Dimapur show their fondness for and fine taste in art and culture. Advanced architecture and city planning are indications of the refinement of the rulers.

The Story Of India Tea AKA The Story Of Indian Tea (1931)

Men work to clear land with shovels and picks. Elephants are used to clear away debris. Tea seeds are tested in water. Seeds are planted. Fencing is erected to prevent animals damaging the crop. Straw is spread on the ground. Seedlings are taken and transplanted after a year's growth. The soil around the plants is hoed. The trees are pruned. Young trees are tipped. A group of child workers pose for the camera. A family of workers pose. Women pick tea.
