Best State for Women in India?

A market in Manipur's Imphal houses over 4000 vendors, all of them women. This marketplace is a mini representation of Manipur's society, where women are at the forefront of running the economy. And not just the economy, historically important social movements have been spearheaded by women. But while this matrilineal setup has ensured women do not remain a passive spectator, it still hasn't been able to push their political participation. Infact, Manipur remains one of the worst Indian states when it comes to women leaders.
