Curating a virtual exhibition- 'Celebrating the Mahatma'

The Covid-19 pandemic curbed the majority of offline events, which inspired us to come up with an idea for a virtual exhibition entitled 'Celebrating the Mahatma' on the occassion of Gandhi Jayanti in 2020. The exhibition was curated by The Northeast India AV Archive for the Department of Arts and Culture, Government of Meghalaya.

Gandhi Jayanti which translates to Gandhi's birthday, is celebrated annually on the 2nd of October, to celebrate the efforts of the Mahatma in leading the nationalist movements organised for the freedom struggle against the colonial power in the erstwhile Indian sub-continent. The exhibition too, displayed photographs depicting Gandhi's mammoth efforts in the mass Indian freedom struggle for Independence and the milestones of his journey as a freedom fighter.
