The 27th October celebrates annually since 2005, the World Day for Audiovisual Heritage. The occasion honours institutions and individuals concerned with the safekeeping and preservation of heritage and culture. The lockdown in 2020, allowed the celebrations to be held only virtually, so in honour of the occasion, The Northeast India AV Archive organised a virtual talk on the subjects of archiving, the importance of archiving and Archives, the reasons for making The Northeast India AV Archive audiovisual- oriented, and the significance of The Northeast India AV Archive being the first of its kind to be set up in the region. Ms Yui Nakamura, Senior Program Officer, Sasakawa Peace Foundation, Ms Fujioka Asako, Member, Board of Directors, YIDFF and Mr Akira Tochigi, Independent Film Archivist were the delegates at the talk.
